Trump's health is clearly failing him. Is it affecting his decision making?

Donald Trump's neck was marked by a painful-looking red rash as he handed out Medals of Honor to veterans at the White House on Monday, days after the US went to war with Iran.

The skin behind his right ear appeared scabbed and flaking, visible to cameras as he moved along the line of honorees.

The public clearly thinks Trump's declining health is a problem, in more ways than one:

The Reuters-Ipsos poll showed 61% of Americans agreed that Trump has “become erratic with age.” Even 30% of Republicans agreed with that sentiment.

The bruising on his hand clearly has nothing to with handshaking, unless shakes hands with his left.

And it's not going away.

On Feb. 24, Trump delivered the 2026 State of the Union address, during which some viewers noted instances of slurred speech and what appeared to be discoloration on one of his hands. His pronunciation of words such as “significantly” and “ago” drew attention online. As he rested his hands on the podium, social media users commented on their appearance and speculated about his health.

Screenshots of these images have since widely circulated on social media.
The word Totenkopf translates literally as “dead person’s head” and the insignia was adopted by the Stabswache, Hitler’s bodyguard. This unit then grew into the Schutzstaffel or SS, which used the Totenkopf as insignia.
International anti-hate organization the Anti-Defamation League, states on its website: “Following the war, neo-Nazis and other white supremacists resurrected the Totenkopf as a hate symbol because of its importance to the SS, and it has been a common hate symbol since. It is this particular image of a skull and crossbones that is considered a hate symbol, not any image of a skull and crossbones.”
